This is a sleeve set that stays on the wheel. It is for STEER axles only and centers the brake drum and the wheel.
Read the description and product specifications below to choose which internal sleeves will meet your needs.
You will need to know your brake drum number to determine which internal sleeves will fit your truck.
Find your brake drum number:
Call your truck's manufacturer
Ask for the parts department
Give the last eight digits of your truck's VIN number
Have them look up the Line Set Ticket or Build Sheet
Ask for brand and part number of the steer axle brake drums
Install Instructions:
Jack up vehicle until the tire is off the ground.
Remove wheel and brake drum. Clean wheel studs thoroughly with our wire brush X-1755-WB (listed under accessories)
Thread 3 sleeves onto the wheel at the 12, 4 and 8 o'clock positions. The squared shoulder centers the brake drum and should seat directly against the hub face.
Slide brake drum over studs and onto the sleeves. Your drum should now be centered and not move. (Make sure the squared portion of the sleeve and brake drum are flush with each other)
Slide the wheel over the studs and onto the remaining smooth shoulder. Your wheel is now centered.
Replace all lugnuts starting with the studs that have the sleeves on and tighten according to the manufacturer's specifications.
NOTE: All of our internal sleeves are threaded inside for accurate centering. The threading also ensures proper and accurate alignment to the hub face as well as prevents the sleeves from moving around on the stud causing wear on the sleeves as well as the wheel stud.
